A true site for Filipinos (Half or full-blooded Pinoys) who believe change can be affected by well-meaning people only by writing about it. Heroes have changed history through the power of their pens. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Lech Walesa, Fidel Castro etc... even our very own Ninoy Aquino were not scared to express their views to achieve the dream of their people. They were willing to die for their country.

People who have high moral convictions. People who are not corrupt. People who do not have greed for power. People who will not steal. People who really care about their country and the welfare of the Filipino people. People who will help change the mindset or culture of greed.

(not necessarily these people)

People who will not oppress people's freedoms because they are poor, uneducated or simply scared to express their views. People who will give them what the Filipinos deserve because that is a right given to them in the constitution. Equal job opportunities, business, education, and would not use their positions to enrich themselves or use their status to make others feel sorry for what they have or cannot have.

People who believe in leaving a legacy that will be enjoyed by children of the next generation, not leave them in extreme poverty. The Filipino poor should be given equal chance to fight against bad living conditions by giving them free education or proper health care and an even chance to provide for their families' future.

Wherever you are, whoever or whenever you can help change the landscape by letting other people know what is wrong in our system. This site is apolitical and we do not take sides. This site is dedicated to change the country for the better or maybe the world if we can still dream about it. If you have been extorted for money by men in uniform, given a bad deal, saw an injustice, witnessed an immoral transaction amongst officials, cheating in election, etc...The list goes on and on and we watch and do not write about it.

While our generation before expressed our views about suppression of freedom in the parliament of the streets and succeeded in ousting oppressive regimes and cheating officials, the new generation are watching as new events unfold. As corruption flourishes in their midst, while they are busy texting,chatting, malling, or gimiks their country is going down the drain.

We are not going back to the streets as this means have been exploited to the hilt even by the corrupt officials themselves who'd pay hapless civilians who do not even know what they are fighting for. The battle continues this time in a different forum.

Martin Luther King quotes "Nothing in the world is more dangerous than a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" in local idiom TANGA KA! PINOY TANGA KA BA?

PINOY TANGA KA BA? WRITE ABOUT IT AND PEOPLE WILL LISTEN. THE INTERNET GENERATION IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE PEN THAT OUR HEROES HAVE USED TO ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS.

Do you believe that the new generation are happy with the way things are around them?Are they just playing blind to the real situation? Are they just simply insensitive? Are they what they call the epitome of the NET GENERATION PINOY TANGA?

I agree with what Raffy said that there are many choices today. Instead of worrying about the state of the country or the world, teenagers will just text, chat, play computer games, scan the net."

Hey Andrew, welcome and thanks for visiting our site. I would have to congratulate you for the successful site that you have. Yes I am one with you in making this country a better place to live and a country of a proud breed. Your A BETTER PHILIPPINES is one of the sites that caught my interest. Although Randy and Eric scared the wits out of me for their eloquence lol. I would love to sit down with you guys when I get back in Manila.

Anyway going to you and Raffy's point. Complacency is a choice. Is is a DUMB CHOICE that a lot of Filipino youths, even adults have chosen. It has caused us poor leaders because the illiterates dictated the future of our country. Why did this happen? We did not believe in the system. We loss faith in the rule of law that is supposed to govern our vision as a nation. We have pseudo-leaders who professed their love of serving the interest of the poor and the needy yet insulting our intelligence is too much for us to bear whenever we see the results of this professed love.

I do not believe your premise Raffy that the youth of today have so many choices. So did we. I was an ignoramus about the state of affairs when I marched to EDSA. I was young. Iwas idealistic. My loins and my brains were telling me there is something wrong. I would have chosen to stay and play my Nintendo or golf or basketball but no MY CHOICE was to "fight for whatever is right-no matter what is the result."
Indeed Raffy, kawawa ang next generation because our youth today, 95% of them, or those we have surveyed, do not even know the preamble, More than half are aware of what CHA CHA is all about. For crying out loud even with the internet in front of their faces they did not even know Muntader Al Sheidi made headlines by throwing his shoes to the most powerful man in the world.

Now that is courage, that is belief, that is conviction. People may tag him as crazy but I wish I had his guts to tell my President off.

Had a chat with a a London based friend and she said that she is definitely out of touch but dismayed with her experience with her last trip to the Philippines. She is aware but kept it to herself so she does not help make the change but lacking a forum to write about it. Do you thiubnk it is a waste of time to be writing what you think is wrong in this country.
